Dear Avi,
We just wanted to write to say thank you for the wonderful trip you prepared for us. It was a truly memorable, once in a lifetime experience that gave us a real insight into a country that at first can seem pretty overwhelming to an outsider. It was incredibly spoiling to be shown Japan from an insiders point of view; to go behind the scenes and see the country in all its true character, rather than just following the well-trodden tourist trails. It is honestly one of the most remarkable places we have ever visited - from the inspiring modesty and resilience of the people, to the beautiful landscapes, and of course the culinary experience (sometimes hit and miss, but certainly never dull!)
Despite the current situation, we are so glad that we came when we did. The tourist industry has suffered significantly, and unfairly, due to recent events. We will speak to our friends and encourage them to support Japan by coming to visit. It was wonderful to meet Yumi, and quite touching when we heard that we were her first clients since March 11th, and that she had no other bookings until September. The foreign media has portrayed an inaccurate picture of the effect of the recent disaster on the country, and this needs to be rectified. If you have any potential clients questioning trips to Japan, then please let us know if you would like us to write a testimonial of encouragement.
With all our very best wishes,
Bella and Fede x - UK

Dear Avi, We just returned to Israel a few days ago and our deep impressions are beginning to be absorbed. Both Dina and I feel that our trip to Japan was a huge success, mainly thanks to you. Your planning of the route, the execution of the program , the choice of hotels and ryokans and your excellent explanations which show the deepness of the Japanese culture you acquired and immersed yourself in, all these made every day a feast. On top of this everything worked out without any glitches. Just perfect. We got the taste of the Japanese special and distinct culture and developed a warm attitude to these industrious people who made from their country, which lacks raw materials, a land of opulence thanks to their dedication, discipline and ambition. For better or worse, the Japanese are quite unique and much can be learned from their experience. I know I would love to go back there one day if this becomes feasible to further learn and get to know the place. Again, many heartfelt thanks from Dina and myself. Give our regards to your lovely Wendy and Sheizaf. Yours very sincerely,

Hi Avi, What a vacation...It was one of our best ever. The planning was great---just enough time to explore both the big city and the rural life style. It was just superb affording us superb authentic experiences that many Westerns do not see. Even Josh, who is so hard to please , said to me "mom, this was just perfect", where will our next vacation be to? Thank you so much; we will be back to Japan and use your services again!!!

Dear Avi,
I'm still in Thailand, but soon heading to Cambodia and Vietnam with some British guys I met and wanted to tell you about. two of them, like me, came to Thailand from Japan, a fact that gave us a common subject for the first few talks, only they didn't have "an Avi" to show them the secrets of this amazing Japanese culture. From our conversation I could see how poorly they really understand the little behaviors of the people. the shyness on the train, the family values, the "conformism", the appreciation of art and "rust". All those things you had made me notice, that turned my trip into a magical one. Those things that looked stupid to me at first, which I can now explain to others with a spark in my eye.
My British friends have never visited those tiny arts and crafts alleys in Kyoto, They never tasted a real Japanese candy, neither chased after Geishas nor heard the singing vendor in the central station. I can't imagine a different kind of trip, without you. It would have been a boring sight seeing for the ignorant tourist, without that base I feel you have given me. All that in only 3 short days.
Thank you for everything, and kisses to Sheizaf

Hi avi So i guess the tourists have left... Again to let you know what a great trip we had, and how we enjoyed your plan, you tips and recommendations. I regret we didn't have a whole day with you as a guide... I think that the greatest compliment was from our son who tends to spare his words. He said that it was one of our best trips ever... Our friend will contact you about his trip to Japan in march. Regards,

We are back home, starting to settle down. We are trying to digest all those special experiences we had in Japan. It was an amazing journey, a unique encounter with a special culture, art and landscape. We feel that those intensive (and very hot) 3 weeks have given us a good idea of the variety and complexity of Japan, and gave us motivation to continue learning about Japan and its culture. For all this we are very grateful to you for organizing such and amazing journey. We very much enjoyed meeting you in Kyoto, and the meal was great.
We will certainly recommend your services to those willing to visit Japan, and who knows, may be we shall come again (but not in summer!!! ) Lehitraot, Neta & Yossi Avner August-2008
